L'\u00e9cran filtrant gaz-liquide est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement tiss\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de microfilaments \u00e0 l'aide d'une m\u00e9thode similaire au tricotage (tricotage en cha\u00eene). Lorsque le gaz transportant des gouttelettes d'une taille sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 3 ou 5 microm\u00e8tres traverse le grillage \u00e0 une certaine vitesse, l'inertie de ces gouttelettes liquides les fait entrer en collision avec les fils fins et adh\u00e9rer \u00e0 leur surface. Les gouttelettes de liquide adh\u00e9rentes coalescent ensuite et se d\u00e9posent sous l'effet de la gravit\u00e9, s'\u00e9coulant progressivement le long des fils jusqu'aux intersections de la maille.<\/p><p>En raison de la mouillabilit\u00e9 des fils, de la tension superficielle du liquide et de l'action capillaire des fils, les gouttelettes grossissent de plus en plus. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa section en forme de V ou de W, la surface effective de d\u00e9sembuage est augment\u00e9e de plus de 15%, ce qui r\u00e9duit la r\u00e9sistance au passage de l'air.<\/p><p>3.
