Trolley Filter

A Trolley filter is not a single, standardized product, but a concept widely applied in the industrial sector, referring to a mobile filtering device that integrates a filtration system, pump, piping, control unit, and mobile chassis.

Following introduction of the trolley filter:
A.What is the Trolley filter

The filtering Trolley  is a “mobile filtration station”. Unlike fixed installation filtration systems that require complex pipe connections, it is designed as a moveable or cart-like device, which can be flexibly moved to the side of the liquid to be processed, quickly connected and perform the filtration operation.

Characteristics:
  • Mobility: Equipped with wheels, it can move flexibly within the workshop or factory.
  • Integration: The core components required for filtration like pumps, filters, motors, control boxes, etc, are integrated into a compact frame.
    • Flexibility: One filtration cart can serve multiple devices or locations, thereby increasing equipment utilization.
    • Easy to handle: Usually equipped with quick connectors, it can be started and operated after being connected to the storage tankthen the whole equipment

    can worked.

filtration trolley  usually consists of the following components:

1). Mobile chassis: A sturdy steel or stainless steel frame with wheels at the bottom, equipped with swivel wheels and directional wheels, facilitating movement and positioning.
2). Drive pump: The important part of the filtration system, providing the power for fluid flow. Common types include:

  • Centrifugal pump: Suitable for low-viscosity, non-particle or low-particle liquid.

Gear pump: Suitable for liquids with certain viscosity, providing stable flow.

  • · Pneumatic diaphragm pump: Suitable for liquids containing solid particles, high viscosity .

    3. Filter unit: The core component, selecting different filter elements or bags based on filtration accuracy and requirements.
    · Filter cartridge: Can be filled with different precision filter elements (such as PP cotton, meltblown, wound filter, metal filter elements, etc.).
    · Filter bag: Used in conjunction with filter bag baskets, usually for handling high flow, pre-filtering or protective filtration.
    · Magnetic filter: Specifically for adsorbing ferromagnetic impurities.

  • 4. Motor and control system:
    · Motor: Provides power for the pump, can be a regular motor, explosion-proof motor or pneumatic motor.
    · Control box: Includes start/stop buttons, overload protection, indicator lights, etc. Some advanced models may also have a frequency converter to regulate flow.

5). Pipelines and valves: Connect the whole system, including inlet pipes, outlet pipes, pressure gauges, and drain valves. Inlets and outlets are usually equipped with quick couplings for convenient connection.
    A.  Main Application
Due to its flexibility of the filtering trolley, is widely used in the following industry scenario:
    · Machine tool coolant filtration: Remove metal debris and impurities from the coolant of grinding machines and CNC machining centers, extend the service life of the coolant, and ensure processing accuracy.
Hydraulic oil, lubricating oil: remove moisture and impurities when add new oil or conduct online or offline filtration on the used oil .
Transformer oil: During the power maintenance, filtering and drying the transformer oilChemical and pharmaceutical: Filter chemical solutions, solvents, raw materials, etc., to ensure product purity. The materials mostly use corrosion-resistant stainless steel such as 304, 316L and hastelloy
Food and beverages: Used for filtering syrup, edible oil, beverages, process water, etc.
    Oil purification and transmission:

Step 1: Push the filtering cart to the storage tank or equipment that needs to be processed.

Step 2. Insert the inlet pipe of the cart through the quick connector into the dirty liquid source to be treated, and connect the outlet pipe to the target container or equipment inlet.

Step 3. Connect the power supply and start the cart. The pump will suck in the dirty liquid, pass through the filtration unit, and impurities will be retained by the filter element / filter bag. The clean liquid will be discharged from the outlet.

Step 4. Observe the pressure gauge. When the pressure rises to the set value (indicating that the filter element is clogged), stop the operation, replace or clean the filter element.

Step 5. After the operation is completed, disconnect the quick connector and move the cart to the next working point or storage location.

  1. Advantagesof the filter cart
  • Multi-functional, high return on investment. One vehicle can serve multiple locations, saving the cost of purchasing multiple sets of fixed filtration systems.
  • Flexible and convenient, saves space. No need to configure filters for each device, nor to lay out complex pipelines. It is particularly suitable for situations with limited space or where the process layout often changes.
  • Enhances production efficiency. Can perform “non-stop” filtration maintenance on key equipment, reducing downtime.
  • Easy to maintain: Compact structure, easy to replace filter elements and perform daily maintenance.
  1. Selection Considerations

When choosing a filtering cart, the following points need to be considered:

  1. Processing medium: Chemical properties of the liquid (determining the material), viscosity, temperature.
  2. Filtration accuracy: The cleanliness requirement to be achieved (in micrometers).
  3. Flow rate requirement: The volume of liquid to be processed per hour.
  4. Working pressure: The resistance that the system needs to overcome in the pipeline.
  5. Power selection: Choose between electric (normal/ explosion-proof) or pneumatic based on the on-site environment.
  6. Material: The material of the parts in contact with the liquid, common ones include carbon steel, 304 stainless steel, 316L stainless steel, etc.

In summary, the filtering cart is an efficient, economical and flexible solution for fluid processing. It is always ready to respond, providing clean liquids for various machines and processes.
