Monel Alloy Mesh
Hebei Lianda Filter Equipment Co., Ltd. supplies monel mesh, mainly including monel 400 mesh, monel K500 mesh, and copper-nickel alloy mesh (Cu70Ni30 / Cu90Ni10). Product forms include woven mesh, punched mesh, expanded metal mesh, and sintered mesh.
Monel mesh is a high-quality nickel-copper alloy (63-70% nickel, 27-34% copper) wire mesh known for its exceptional corrosion resistance, high strength, and durability in extreme environments. It outperforms stainless steel in many corrosive chemical and marine applications.
Copper-nickel (Cu-Ni) alloy mesh is a highly corrosion-resistant, durable, and thermally conductive wire mesh used extensively in marine, chemical, and industrial applications. The most common grades are 90/10 (C70600) and 70/30 (C71500), offering excellent resistance to seawater, biofouling, and acidic environments.
Comparison of main grid levels:
Alloy Grade | Composition | Key Properties | Typical Applications |
---|---|---|---|
Monel 400 (UNS N04400) | 63–70% Nickel, 27–34% Copper, trace Iron/Manganese | Excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of media | Marine engineering, chemical processing equipment |
Monel K500 (UNS N05500) | Nickel-Copper with Aluminum/Titanium (precipitation-hardened) | Superior corrosion resistance, significantly higher strength | Aerospace, offshore and deep-sea applications |
90/10 Copper-Nickel (C70600) | 90% Copper, 10% Nickel, <1% Iron/Manganese | Outstanding seawater corrosion resistance, excellent weldability | Desalination plants, marine piping, condensers, heat exchangers |
70/30 Copper-Nickel (C71500) | 70% Copper, 30% Nickel, <1% Iron/Manganese | Higher strength and better corrosion resistance than 90/10 alloy | Offshore oil & gas, power generation, chemical processing |
66/30/2/2 Copper-Nickel (C71640) | 66% Copper, 30% Nickel, 2% Iron, 2% Manganese | Enhanced erosion resistance in turbulent seawater | High-velocity seawater systems, naval applications |
Note: The above parameters can be optimized and customized according to working conditions.
Common weaving types and specifications
1. Plain Weave (Most Common)
– Balanced mesh used for filtration, screening, and shielding.
– Mesh size: 0.2 to 200 mesh.
– Wire diameter: 0.05 mm to 5 mm.
2. Twill Weave
– A stronger, denser weave suitable for high-pressure filtration.
3. Dutch Weave (Micron-Level Filtration)
– Fine mesh used to filter small particles from corrosive liquids.
4. Welded Mesh (Structural)
– Used for marine gratings, building facades, and industrial screens.
Product Features and Benefits
Monel 400 and K500: Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Resistant to seawater, sulfuric/hydrochloric acid, alkalis, and hydrofluoric acid (better than stainless steel).
Unaffected by chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
High Strength and Toughness
Retains strength at temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 550°C.
Monel K500 has a yield strength twice that of Monel 400.
Excellent Machinability
Easy to weld, braze, and solder.
Resists Biofouling and Corrosion
Ideal for marine filters, offshore platforms, and desalination plants.
Copper-Nickel Alloys: Cu90/Ni10, Cu70/Ni30:
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
